Profile

I have been training software teams since 2004, alongside a full engineering career as developer, CTO, engineering manager and staff engineer. I teach what I use in production: version control, containers, Linux and, more recently, building software with AI coding assistants. My courses are hands-on, delivered in Spanish or English, and adapted to each team, and most of my course material is public. I hold a PhD in Physics from Delft University of Technology.

Courses

All courses are hands-on and tailored to the client. Durations are the usual ones; shorter versions are available to fit the client’s needs.

  • Format: in person, or remote on Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex or Zoom.
  • Schedule: flexible, from full-day sessions to three-hour sessions.
  • Group size: up to 15 attendees.

Teaching approach

  • The attendees come first. I measure a course by what people can do when it ends. I’m there to help them learn, never to show how much I know.
  • Learning by doing. Every course is built around labs, so attendees learn each tool by using it on realistic exercises.
  • Difficult concepts in plain terms. I break hard topics into small steps, with examples, at the pace of the group.
  • Patient and calm. Every question gets a proper answer, and I keep a classroom or a video call steady when a session becomes tense.
  • A syllabus built from the client’s needs. Before a course I talk with the client, understand the team and its problems, and turn that into a syllabus, the same work I did with product requirements as an engineering manager.
